About Atomic Time

Atomic Time

ZB1813 Indoor Outdoor Atomic Clocks

The official time standard for the United States is maintained by the National Institute Of Technology's Time and Frequency Division. The accuracy for time interval and frequency is created by the cesium fountain "atomic" clock and is then broadcast by WWVB throughout North America to synchronize weather stations, clocks and wristwatches that have a receiver built into the unit. All of our  atomic or " radio controlled" Atomic watches,Atomic clocks and,Wireless Weather Stations with atomic time, are constructed with this receiver and are tuned to receive the WWVB signal within the coverage area. This signal is broadcast using UTC, commonly known as Coordinated Universal Time which is the universal international standard for time. Your atomic time watch or clock is updated at least once a day, usually at night which is when the WWVB signal is the strongest. La Crosse Technology is universally known as having the the most precise atomic time products on the market today.
